HELENA, Mont. (AP) - Helena city officials say four train cars derailed, including two that contain liquefied propane gas.

City spokeswoman Rebecca Connors said in a statement Wednesday that the derailed cars have not leaked and there is no threat to public safety.

Traffic is being diverted while the rail cars are stabilized and lifted back onto the tracks, a process that officials say could take several hours.

The Independent Record reports the derailment happened at 4:25 a.m. as a Montana Rail Link train was switching cars.
