BROOKFIELD, Vt. (AP) - Here’s another sign that winter is on its way.
The floating bridge in Brookfield over Sunset Lake has closed for the winter.
The bridge on Vermont Route 65 closes seasonally every fall and reopens in the spring after the snow melts.
The town of Brookfield says on its website that the bridge is buoyed by pontoons and was originally built in 1820.
