TAUNTON, Mass. (AP) - Massachusetts State Police are seeking the public’s help in solving a fatal hit-and-run incident in the city of Taunton.
Emergency responders found 85-year-old Jose Ferreria of Taunton lying in the roadway on Wednesday, shortly after 5:30 p.m. He was taken to Morton Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Police believe the driver of the vehicle that apparently struck Ferreria fled the scene, traveling westbound on Middleboro Avenue after the crash.
Investigators want to hear from any witnesses who were driving near 305 Middleboro Avenue around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday to come forward, noting that minor details or observations could be helpful.
