MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Leaders in Memphis, Tennessee, have revived plans to serve a hot Thanksgiving meal to homeless residents, one day after the event was canceled.
WREG-TV reports the city announced the reversal Tuesday, citing an “outpouring of generosity” from community members.
On Monday the city canceled the event because of construction at the convention center where it would’ve been held.
A new venue for the dinner has not been announced. The city says in a news release that it will have more details soon.
