OCEAN CITY, N.J. (AP) - Coast Guard rescuers are searching for a kite surfer reported missing in waters near Ocean City, New Jersey.
Officials say a 911 caller reported that the kite surfer, reportedly wearing all black, was seen drifting out to sea after falling from the board about 500 yards off Carson Inlet at about 3:20 p.m. Thursday.
Authorities launched an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Air Station Atlantic City as well as a 47-foot motor lifeboat crew and a 45-foot response boat to search for the missing person.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Coast Guard command center.
