FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) - The reward has increased for information to help solve the case of a hit-and-run crash that killed a man in downtown Fort Lauderdale, and the victim’s celebrity cousin has spoken out about his death.

Broward Crime Stoppers said Tuesday the reward is now $6,000.

The Sun Sentinel reports that 35-year-old Frederick was hit by a car about 3 a.m. on Oct. 26 while crossing a street.

Frederick is a cousin of singer and entertainer Nicole Scherzinger, who performed with The Pussycat Dolls and is currently a judge on the Fox show “The Masked Singer.”

During a telephone interview in early November with WSVN-Ch. 7, Scherzinger said wanted to increase the Crime Stoppers reward in the hopes of finding the driver who fled the scene after hitting her cousin.
