WICHITA, Kan. (AP) - The federal government has awarded Wichita a $14.2 million grant to build a new bus transit center.

The Federal Transit Administration announced Monday in a news release that the Kansas project is among $423 million in transit infrastructure grants awarded nationwide that aim to bolster the safety and reliability of bus systems.

The Wichita Transit building will connect 17 bus routes, four trolley and commuter transit in the west bank area of the Arkansas River.
