STOWE, Vt. (AP) - WCAX-TV in Vermont says it’s flying in a specialized crew to assess the damage after a fire at its transmission tower on Mount Mansfield in Stowe.

The station says the fire Tuesday knocked out its over-the-air signal, as well as for WPTZ and secondary stations. The station says the cause of the fire hasn’t been determined, or how long it will take to fix the signal.

The crew wasn’t expected to assess the problem on the 190-foot tower until Thursday.

It takes a 90-minute snowmobile ride to get to the tower.

The station says it’s back on the air on the Xfinity/Comcast and Charter cable systems, and viewers can watch the news on its website and app.
