Sheriff’s office investigating man’s body found in car

PLYMOUTH, N.C. (AP) - A North Carolina sheriff’s office is investigating the discovery of a man’s body inside a car.

News sources report Washington County Sheriff Johnny Barnes says the body of 25-year-old Oji Elon Wynn was located in a car on Folley Road in Roper on Thursday. Barnes says Wynn’s body was discovered after deputies were called about a suspicious vehicle.

Barnes didn’t say how Wynn died. The Pitt County Medical Examiner’s Office hasn’t completed an autopsy.

The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is assisting on the case.
