BRATTLEBORO, Vt. (AP) - A sheriff’s deputy in Vermont is recovering from injuries suffered while directing traffic near an Interstate 91 on ramp in Brattleboro.
The Brattleboro Reformer reports Kevin Turnley was struck by a commercial vehicle early Monday afternoon and suffered a leg injury.
Windham County Sheriff’s Capt. Mark Anderson says Turnley was taken to the emergency room at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital where he was to undergo surgery.
Without identifying the victim, Brattleboro Police Capt. Mark Carignan said the injury was serious, but not life-threatening.
The crash is being investigated by Brattleboro police.
