FAIRVIEW, W.Va. (AP) - Two West Virginia schools are closing as an entire town goes under a boil water advisory.
Fairview Middle School Principal Steve Rodriguez says his school and Fairview Elementary School be shut down Friday.
He says health department officials came to the school and advised him to close it over the water quality issues.
WBOY-TV reports the state health department issued the boil water advisory in the town Thursday evening. The station says the advisory was effective immediately and a department representative didn’t give any information on when it would be lifted.
Officials from the health department are gathering samples from Fairview’s water system.
