BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - North Dakota health officials are now offering an electronic card option for medical marijuana patients.
The Bismarck Tribune reports the cards will be accessible through mobile devices and are being rolled out in conjunction with BioTrackTHC, which is a implementing a state medical marijuana tracking system.
The state Health Department will monitor the usage of the electronic cards and might eventually do away with printed cards for patients.
Jason Wahl is director of the Division of Medical Marijuana. He says for now, newly registered patients will continue to receive a printed card.
Instructions to access the electronic card are on the Medical Marijuana Division’s website.
As of mid-May, officials say more than 450 registry identification cards have been issued so far to qualifying patients.
