Fans of Sylvester Stallone’s iconic “John Rambo” character got their first real taste of “Rambo: Last Blood” on Thursday.

The action star who has portrayed “Rambo” on the big screen since 1982’s “First Blood” has given him one last mission — taking on a Mexican cartel.

“I’ve lived in a world of death,” Mr. Stallone says at the trailer’s start. “I’ve watched people I’ve loved die. Some fast with a bullet, some with not enough left to bury. All these years I’ve kept my secrets, but the time has come to face my past.”

The narration is paired with scenes of the military veteran wielding and creating various weapons to take on cartel members.

“I want revenge,” the action star continued. “I want them to know that death is coming and there’s nothing they can do to stop it.”

The Lionsgate film is directed by Adrian Grunberg and hits theaters Sept. 20.
