OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) - A jury has found a 34-year-old man guilty of murder and nine other charges in fatal shooting of a Spanaway man in 2017.
The Olympian reports after a six-week trial, a jury also found Christopher Heeren guilty of robbery, burglary, two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, trafficking in stolen property, conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance, two counts of theft of a firearm, and possessing a stolen firearm.
The body of 32-year-old Shaddie Graham was found in an Olympia park Sept. 29, 2017.
Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Scott Jackson said the case went to the jury May 22 and the jury returned a verdict the next day.
Heeren lived near the park, and a witness reported seeing the duo in the woods. Detectives concluded that Heeren shot Graham with a gun stolen from Heeren’s stepbrother’s roommate.
