ASHBURN — Chase Roullier hasn’t practiced with his teammates during OTAs, and there’s a reason why. The Redskins center is recovering from shoulder surgery, which he underwent after the 2018 season.

Roullier started in all 16 games for the Redskins last year and was only player to play 100% of Washington’s offensive snaps. That was a rarity, especially given how banged up the offensive line was in 2018.

But Roullier told The Washington Times his shoulder had been an issue for the last couple of years.

“I just got it done this offseason to make sure it doesn’t hinder me in the future,” Roullier said.

At OTAs, Roullier has been working off to the side in the team’s rehab area. This offseason, Washington has used a variety of different offensive linemen with the first-team as many of last year’s starters work their way back from injuries.

The Redskins drafted Roullier in the sixth round in 2017, and he’s emerged as a reliable starter since then.

“It’s coming along really well,” Roullier said of his shoulder. “Right now, it’s just making sure it is ready to go by training camp.”
