STANHOPE, N.J. (AP) - A day after a tornado hit part of New Jersey, forecasters are warning of a possible repeat.
The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a tornado warning Wednesday afternoon for some towns along the Delaware River including Stockton and Lambertville.
It’s also issued a tornado watch for parts of southern and eastern-central New Jersey through early 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Earlier in the day, a survey team from the National Weather Service determined a twister caused storm damage in Stanhope on Tuesday night. The team had yet to determine specifics about its strength and path
Lenape Valley Regional High School was closed Wednesday after the storm damaged its facade and ripped up a dugout from its athletic field. The town also experienced fallen tree branches and downed power lines.
