PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Gasoline prices are down slightly in Rhode Island.
AAA Northeast says its latest weekly survey, released Tuesday, that self-serve regular gasoline is selling for an average of $2.84 per gallon in the state. That’s down 2 cents from the previous week and 2 cents higher than the current national average.
The average price one year ago was 15 cents higher, at $2.99 per gallon.
AAA says gas prices should continue to decline in early June due to stable crude oil prices. It says increased demand could push prices higher, but only by a few cents.
AAA found self-serve selling for as low as $2.69 per gallon to as high as $2.99.
