WINNSBORO, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say a teen and a 10-year-old girl have died after their four-wheeler collided with a car on a South Carolina road.

The Highway Patrol said a car turned left into the path of the four-wheeler on a rural road south of Winnsboro around 6 p.m. Monday, knocking both people from the all-terrain vehicle around 6 p.m. Monday.

Fairfield County Coroner Chris Hill told media outlets that 17-year-old Christopher Simmons Jr. died later Monday and 10-year-old Jermiia Scarborough died at a hospital Tuesday. Neither was wearing a helmet.

Troopers are still investigating the wreck.

On Saturday, authorities say 21-year-old Stephen Campbell died in neighboring Kershaw County when his four-wheeler ran off a dirt road and flipped several times.
