GLASTONBURY, Conn. (AP) - Authorities say a worker suffered serious leg injuries after falling into large industrial lathe at a Connecticut aerospace parts manufacturer.
Police say it took more than 30 minutes to extricate the 58-year-old man from the machine at EDAC Technologies in Glastonbury after the initial call at about 12:15 a.m. Tuesday. The man was alert during the rescue.
He was flown by helicopter to Hartford Hospital with what were described as “serious injuries to the lower extremities.”
His name was not released.
Although not considered suspicious, authorities are investigating.
The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration has also been notified.
