BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - A Bismarck man has pleaded not guilty to a felony charge in a crash that injured a pedestrian.
Karson Demers entered the plea Monday to felony criminal vehicular injury. Chaylynn Arntz was injured when she was struck by Demers’ pickup truck March 22.
Bismarck Officer Tyler Mees testified Arntz was unresponsive and bleeding when she was taken to the hospital where she remained unconscious the following day. Arntz’s brother earlier told the Bismarck Tribune his sister suffered several broken bones, a collapsed lung and internal bleeding.
Police say Demers told investigators Arntz “had come out of nowhere” just before she was struck. A jury trial is scheduled Sept. 11.
