BOSTON (AP) - Massachusetts drivers are paying the same for a gallon of gas as they did a week ago.

AAA Northeast reports Monday that self-serve, regular is selling for an average of $2.80 per gallon, the same as last week.

The Massachusetts price is a nickel lower than the national average for the same grade, and 7 cents per gallon lower than the year-ago price.

A spokeswoman says “Crude oil prices have been relatively stable in the past few months, and that stability is moderating pump prices.”

AAA found a 44-cent range, with a low of $2.61 and a high of $3.05 per gallon of regular.
