Three local police officers were injured in an accident Tuesday as they guided President Trump’s motorcade from a Louisiana airport to an official event.
There were no serious injuries, according to reporters traveling with the president, and Mr. Trump and his vehicle were fine.
All three officers were treated at a nearby hospital and are in stable condition, said White House press secretary Sarah Sanders.
The officers involved were riding motorcycles as they traveled with Mr. Trump’s motorcade from Chennault International Airport in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to the Cameron LNG Export Terminal in Hackberry.
Mr. Trump is touting the opening of the terminal as part of his “America First” energy policy, saying it will create jobs and reduce reliance on foreign energy.
