CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - A well-known hotel and conference center in Casper will reopen this summer with a new name.

The former Parkway Plaza Hotel and Convention Center will become the Clarion Inn at Platte River.

The Casper Star-Tribune reports Maryland-based Choice Hotels and Georgia-based CUSA LLC plan to reopen the building by July or August.

The Casper area already has five other Choice Hotels properties. A press release says the Clarion Inn at Platte River will have 198 rooms and 42,000 square feet (3,900 square meters) of conference and banquet space.

The Parkway Plaza changed hands several times over the past decades and closed last fall for renovations.
