MANDAN, N.D. (AP) - The next court appearance for a man accused of killing four people at a Mandan property management company has been delayed until late summer.
Chad Isaak was to make a preliminary hearing on Tuesday, but it’s been rescheduled for Aug. 12 to provide more time for attorneys to review evidence. A preliminary hearing determines whether a case moves forward, and the suspect has the option of waiving it and entering a plea.
Isaak is charged with felony murder in the April 1 deaths of RJR Maintenance and Management co-owner Robert Fakler and three workers in Mandan. Authorities say they were shot and stabbed.
Isaak is a Washburn chiropractor who lives on property managed by RJR, but police haven’t identified a motive. He faces up to life in prison if convicted.
