A CNN White House reporter shared a heartfelt letter on Friday that President Trump and first lady Melania Trump sent to her cancer-stricken friend.
“A personal note for a gesture that doesn’t often make it onto WH twitter but should be recognized,” CNN’s Betsy Klein tweeted to her 38,400 followers.
Ms. Klein’s tweet included a screenshot of the letter sent to her friend Lillie on Monday.
“Dear Lillie,” the Trumps wrote, according to the screenshot. “We are so inspired by your strength and spirit as you take on cancer with uncommon courage. You are in our heartfelt prayers.
“Always remember that there are many people in your life who love you and support you,” they wrote. “We are all on Team Lillie! May God bless you.”
Ms. Klein said Lillie is battling brain cancer, and that Lillie’s mother said the Trumps’ letter brought her daughter “much joy after a very tough week.”
