BOSTON (AP) - Firefighters in Boston have extinguished a blaze on the 25th story of a high-rise building that’s under construction near the TD Garden sports arena.
First responders were called to the scene shortly before 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
The Boston Fire Department reported on Twitter that there were no elevators in service and firefighters had to walk up to the 25th floor with hoses and other equipment.
There were no immediate reports of injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Police warned drivers to expect heavy traffic and delays around TD Garden, where the Boston Bruins were to host the Ottawa Senators in a National Hockey League game on Saturday evening. The fire did not affect the arena.
