1 person dies in Greeley house fire

GREELEY, Colo. (AP) - A woman has died following a house fire in northeast Colorado.

The Greeley Fire Department says firefighters responded to a call about 2:15 a.m. Saturday and found a house fire mostly in the basement area.

Firefighters found an unresponsive woman in the basement and she was taken to a hospital where she died.

The name of the victim was not immediately released.

The fire was contained mainly to the basement of the home, which a witness told firefighters had been abandoned and boarded up.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
