PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Authorities say a boy struck by a car as he and his older sister walked to school in Philadelphia is listed in critical but stable condition.

Police said Tuesday afternoon that the 7 a.m. Tuesday accident involved a 4-year-old boy and a 7-year-old girl (rather than an 8-year-old girl as was said earlier).

Police said they were with their mother when they stepped out in front of a passing car and were struck. They were taken to Hahnemann University Hospital but later transported to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children.



The girl had bruises and facial injuries and was listed in stable condition. The boy had bruises and head injuries and was listed in critical but stable condition. Police said the driver of the car remained at the scene. The accident remains under investigation.
