ESSINGTON, Pa. (AP) - Authorities say the driver of a vehicle going the wrong way on Interstate 95 after an incident near Philadelphia International Airport was taken to a hospital after a crash.
Philadelphia police say the black Ford was stopped in the running lanes of Departure Road by the airport’s West Terminal on Monday afternoon. When police sounded their horn, the 41-year-old driver jumped the median, hit two other vehicles and fled.
Police said the black Ford traveled south in the northbound lanes of I-95 in Delaware County, striking another vehicle head-on near Route 420 in Tinicum Township and flipping over. State police said the driver of the Ford was taken to a hospital. WCAU-TV reported that the driver was in stable condition and no other life-threatening injuries were reported.
