CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - A late winter snowstorm is tracking through much of West Virginia.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning through early Monday for up to 8 (20 centimeters) of snow in northern and eastern regions of the state.

The weather service says snowfall rates of 1 inch (2.5 centimeters) per hour are expected and could mix with sleet and rain at times.

Lesser amounts of snow are expected elsewhere in the state.
