NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (AP) - Much of western Nebraska, including the Sandhills region, is getting another shot of winter, more than a week into spring.

Snow has already blanketed much of the area Friday, making roads slick and cutting visibility. Numerous crashes had already been reported on roads in the region by midday Friday.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the area, including the cities of Broken Bow, North Platte, Ogallala and Valentine, for Friday until 1 a.m. Saturday. Weather forecasters say 2 to 5 inches of snow is expected.
