Fire officials say at least eight people were injured in a blaze that tore through a Bronx apartment building early Wednesday.

Firefighters responded to the inferno at a six-story building on University Avenue in Morris Heights at 1:45 a.m. Officials say the fire started on the second floor and spread up to the fourth floor.

More than 100 firefighters got the blaze under control by 2:15 a.m.

Officials say three people have serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, and five people have minor injuries.
