PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Two Rhode Island casinos now have self-service kiosks for sports betting.

Rhode Island is the only New England state that allows betting on sports.

Twin River Casino added 17 kiosks to its Lincoln location and five in Tiverton, near the Massachusetts border, to reduce lines at ticket windows. The casino said Friday that the kiosks were coming online that day.

The casino management group and state officials wanted to add the kiosks in time for betting on the NCAA basketball tournament.

The kiosks are positioned throughout the casino floor.

Earlier this month, the legislature sent a bill to the governor that expands the state’s sports betting law by allowing wagers to take place online. Democratic Gov. Gina Raimondo’s proposed budget includes revenue from mobile sports betting.
