BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - One of Louisiana’s major oil and gas lobbying groups has elected its first female chair.

Gloria Moncada was selected for the leadership role at the Louisiana Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Association during its annual meeting this month. She is the first female chair of the organization in its 97-year history.

Moncada is plant manager for the ExxonMobil Baton Rouge Refinery, where she started in 1992 as a chemical engineer.
