MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - The Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department is hosting free guided excursions at certain wildlife management areas this spring.

The department says the walks and seminars are a way for Vermonters to get to know the state’s 98 wildlife management areas and to view wildlife.

A spring waterfowl migration bird-watching tour is planned for April 11 at Little Otter Creek Wildlife Management Area in Ferrisburgh.

A search for boreal birds at Wenlock Wildlife Management Area in Ferdinand is planned for May 8. A spring wildflower walk is scheduled for May 9 at Dead Creek Wildlife Management Area in Addison and an evening bird-watching paddle is planned at the same spot for May 28.

Space is limited. Those interested may sign up online at vtfishandwildlife.com.
