SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - California’s unemployment rate held steady at 4.2 percent in February.

The state Employment Development Department said Friday that California added 14,600 nonfarm payroll jobs during the month.

A year earlier, the unemployment rate was 4.3 percent. It was 4.1 percent from last September through December before rising to 4.2 percent in January.
