JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Help is available for Mississippi residents who cannot live in their homes because of flooding and a round of severe weather that swept through the state last month.
The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency says people may begin applying on Friday for the temporary housing assistance program. It helps people who are displaced from their homes for at least three days.
Applications are available in Grenada, Lee, Lowndes, Warren and Yazoo counties.
Strong winds, tornadoes and heavy rain swept through parts of Mississippi on Feb. 23-24.
