SHERWOOD, Ore. (AP) - A piano teacher suspected of sexually abusing a young student has been named in a 24-count indictment, which contends the abuse happened monthly from July of 2018 to February 2019.
KATU-TV reports 29-year-old Christopher M. Griffin was indicted on eight counts each of sodomy, sex abuse and sexual penetration.
Griffin was arrested again last Thursday after police say he violated his release agreement and contacted the family of the 8-year-old victim.
His remains in jail where his bail was increased to over $1 million.
Police began investigating March 7 after receiving reports of abuse happening while Griffin was teaching piano lessons with Let’s Make Music & Dance.
Griffin’s mother, the director of the academy, says in a statement on the academy’s website that he’s innocent and will be exonerated in court.
