Crew work for hours to extinguish Indiana landfill fire

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) - A landfill fire in northeastern Indiana created a glow that could be seen from several miles (kilometers) away.

WANE-TV reports fire departments from across Allen County responded to the fire, which started late Tuesday in Fort Wayne. No injuries were reported.

Crews worked for several hours to extinguish the fire and were at the scene wrapping up early Wednesday. The cause of the fire wasn’t immediately known.
