ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) - The Coast Guard has come to the rescue of a man who was found unconscious aboard a cruise ship off the southern New Jersey coast.
The man was found early Tuesday on the pool deck of the MSC Divina. It was about 100 miles (161 kilometers) off the coast of Atlantic City at the time.
An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Air Station Atlantic City and an HC-130 Hercules airplane crew from Air Station Elizabeth City, North Carolina, were launched to assist in the rescue.
The helicopter crew was able to load the man onto a stretcher and safely hoist him up to the aircraft. He was taken to a hospital, but his name and further details on his condition were not disclosed.
