BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (AP) - A high school student who was struck by an allegedly drugged driver in upstate New York has died.

The Binghamton City School District announced Wednesday that 16-year-old Harper Stantz died at a hospital two days after the crash.

Officials say Stantz and 19-year-old Britney Laserinko were struck while walking home after playing tennis at around 3:30 p.m. Monday.

Laserinko has been hospitalized in stable condition.

Stantz’s family says her organs will be donated in the hope of saving other lives.
