SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) - A Massachusetts man police say had several guns, ammunition, and bomb-making chemicals in his home has pleaded guilty to federal charges in the case.
The Republican newspaper reports that 50-year-old Edward Laboursoliere, of Holyoke, pleaded guilty Tuesday to illegally manufacturing a machine gun in his basement.
He had originally pleaded not guilty to the charges but reversed his plea, telling a judge he had not reached a deal with prosecutors.
He was charged with possession of an unregistered firearm, making of a firearm in violation of the National Firearms Act, and possession of a firearm without a serial number.
Police responded to his home last April after getting a call from his wife.
Laboursoliere faces up to 10 years in prison at sentencing on June 5.
His lawyer declined comment.
