CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - West Virginia residents can ski or snowboard for free at three state resorts on Sunday.

The West Virginia Ski Areas Association says in a news release the offer involves most of the trail systems at Canaan Valley Ski Area, Snowshoe Mountain and Winterplace Ski Resort.

Skiers must show proof of state residency.

Sunday will mark the last day of the ski season at Canaan Valley. Snowshoe Mountain plans to close its slopes on March 31. Winterplace has not determined a closing date for the season.
