BOSTON (AP) - Massachusetts residents are paying an average of 3 cents per gallon more for gasoline this week.
AAA Northeast said Monday that self-serve, regular is selling for an average of $2.39 per gallon, 3 cents more than last week.
The Massachusetts price is 8 cents lower than the national average and 11 cents lower than the in-state price a year ago.
AAA says rising prices are due to several factors, including increasing demand, fluctuating oil prices, and decreasing supplies and prices at the pump may continue to go up although they are not expected to reach last year’s peak.
AAA found a wide range of prices in Massachusetts for self-serve, regular, from a low of $2.23 per gallon to a high of $3.05.
