FALLSTON, N.C. (AP) - A collision between a truck and a van right outside a North Carolina elementary school has left seven children and two adults injured.
The Shelby Star reports that the truck leaving Fallston Elementary school hit the neon green van as school let out Thursday afternoon. The van was transporting six children at the time, and ended up in an area with small trees and brush.
Officials say the children were in elementary and middle school. Cleveland County EMS says injuries ranged from scrapes and bruises to a broken leg and head injury.
North Carolina Highway Patrol troopers believe the woman driving the truck didn’t stop as she pulled out of the parking area. Troopers are still investigating, but believe the truck driver will be charged.
