NEW YORK (AP) - Officials say six people were rescued when a boat capsized on the Long Island Sound off City Island.
The U.S. Coast Guard says the boat overturned about 5:30 p.m. Sunday. The Coast Guard says five people were in the water before they were safely rescued with help from the New York City fire department.
The New York Police Department say divers deployed from a helicopter found the sixth victim in an air pocket under the boat. New York City fire officials say the woman had become tangled in fishing gear.
The woman’s condition wasn’t immediately known, but a police diver said she seemed “OK.”
