PHOENIX (AP) - A fire is burning on national forest land north of Phoenix, and authorities say someone caused the blaze.

Authorities say Friday that the Tonto National Forest Fire covers less than 8 square miles (less than 21 square kilometers) and has closed Bartlett Dam Road.

The U.S. Forest Service says day-use areas and campgrounds near Horseshoe and Bartlett lakes are closed and people that were already in those areas were being escorted out.

Air tankers and a helicopter were helping crews fighting the fire.
