CLINTON, Mass. (AP) - Police in the town of Clinton are investigating the death of a teenager as a possible drowning.
Authorities say the boy was found unresponsive Tuesday afternoon in an area known as Blueberry Island, a land mass on South Meadow Pond.
Police and firefighters needed a boat to reach the boy, who was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
In a message to the community, School Superintendent Steven Meyer identified the teen as Rafael Perez, a freshman at Clinton High School.
Meyer said additional staff would be on hand at the school on Wednesday to support grieving students.
The death remains under investigation.
