OPINION:
Impeach, impeach, impeach. Turn on the TV and it seems all the news channels are talking about it — but they never say exactly which “high crimes and misdemeanors” the president has committed. Many Democrats, especially the Democratic presidential candidates, also want to impeach the president. But impeachment is a fruitless endeavor because even if the House can drum up some political charge with which to impeach President Trump, the Senate does not have the votes to convict him, especially for some scurrilous charge.
In the meantime, Speaker Pelosi should be “impeached” for dereliction of duty. She is refusing to provide the necessary legislation to secure our southern border, not only to build a wall to slow illegal entry but also to provide funds for humanitarian relief for people trying to enter the United States illegally. Mrs. Pelosi is deliberately turning her back on the border crisis, which directly and negatively harms U.S. citizens, as she is refusing to prevent drugs, MS-13 gang members and child abusers from entering. These are “high crimes.”
Voters can remove her in 2020 along with the rest of the Democrats by returning the House to the Republicans, who will vote to solve the border crisis. More Republicans in the Senate will also vote to solve the border crisis.
