KENT, Wash. (AP) - A motorcyclist has died after a crash with a Kent Police vehicle.

The motorcyclist died after striking the side of the vehicle during a traffic stop Friday night, according to a press release from the Kent Police Department.

As the officer tried to make the stop, the 20-year-old motorcyclist struck the driver’s side of the patrol vehicle.



The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene despite lifesaving efforts from the officer and medical personnel, according to the release.

The Police Department is not releasing the name of the victim or the officer.

King County traffic investigators will conduct an independent investigation of the crash.
